I took a Dale Carnegie course back in the 1990's and, in my perspective, his teachings are timeless. In his book, Make Yourself Unforgettable, Dale Carnegie tells us to keep the following points in mind: To get the best of an argument - avoid it. Show respect for the other person's opinion. Never tell a person he or she is wrong. If you are wrong, admit it quickly, emphatically. Begin in a friendly way. Get the other person saying "yes" immediately. I was listening to a webinar yesterday when the speaker asked us about out brain and our thoughts. He said that our brain is in charge of protecting us from harm. It is the old ancient fear that results in fight or flight. We needed this in the caveman days, right? Do you need it now?
